To Save a People. . .and Our Planet
Eighteen Sins of Man

Exerpt From PYGMY KITABU by JEAN-PIERRE HALLET

THE "PRIMITIVE" PYGMY LAWS CAN REALLY SAVE OUR PLANET!
These basic rules command us to be ethical in our dealings with both man and nature.

THE SAME LAWS WERE INSCRIBED
IN THE EGYPTIAN BOOK OF THE DEAD,
THOUSANDS OF YEARS AGO:

  1. CRUELTY TOWARD CHILDREN
  2. MURDER
  3. WANTON SLAUGHTER OF ANIMALS*
  4. DISRESPECT TOWARD PARENTS AND ELDERS
  5. FAILURE TO HELP A WOUNDED OR STRAY PYGMY FROM ELSEWHERE
  6. WASTING FOOD*
  7. FOULING WATER*
  8. SORCERY
  9. ADULTERY
  10. COWARDLY BEHAVIOR DURING THE HUNT
  11. HUSBAND-BEATING
  12. WIFE-BEATING
  13. CUTTING THE TALL TREES*
  14. BLASPHEMY
  15. SETTING TRAPS FOR ANIMALS, IT IS WASTEFUL AND UNMANLY*
  16. THEFT
  17. EATING EGGS, WHICH ARE LIKE "SEEDS OF LIFE"*
  18. SLANDER

(*)THE PYGMY "COMMANDMENTS" INCLUDE SIX ECOLOGICAL LAWS.

This conservationist credo might be summarized as:

"DO UNTO NATURE
AS YOU WOULD HAVE
NATURE DO UNTO YOU". . . .
